Beloit Public Library receives $4K grant from Ecolab Foundation

BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) – A stateline library receives funding for a popular reading program for fourth and fifth-grade students, which includes author visits and book discussions throughout the year.

Beloit Public Library receives $4,000 from Ecolab Foundation to support the library’s BookQuest program.

BookQuest is an annual reading program for 4th and 5th graders, which culminates in a friendly battle-of-the-books style competition between Beloit-area schools in the Spring.

As a result of the funding, Beloit Public Library will bring author Tracy Occomy Crowder to Beloit this Winter, a nationally known author, who will talk about her book Montgomery and the Case of the Golden Key.

Ecolab announced the grant in December as part of the company’s NPO Grant Program.

The grant will also cover author-signed book giveaways, trophies and lunch for participants in the competition.
