The company behind the widely used artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT has set out restructuring plans to make it easier for it to raise capital and remove restrictions imposed by its non-profit parent.
OpenAI said its existing for-profit arm would become a Delaware-registered public benefit corporation — a company required to consider the interests of society as well as pursuing shareholder value.
