Huntsville non-profit awards over $2M in grants to nearly 200 non-profits on Giving Tuesday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville advocates spent Tuesday spreading the word about how you can pay it forward.
Giving Tuesday is a nationally recognized day devoted to giving back to those in need.
The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville joined several local non-profits for an event on Tuesday.
During the event, organizers announced more than $2 million worth of grants that will go out to almost 200 different community organizations.
“There are 189 different non-profit organizations getting funding from this announcement,” Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville CEO Melissa Thompson said. “That’s arts and culture to basic needs, education, and everything in between. Lots of organizations that are the boots on the ground doing great things to make our community better.”
The non-profits receiving the grant money operate in Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, and Limestone Counties.
