Boys & Girls Club of The Wausau Area selected for Covantage Cares Giving Tuesday campaign

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – It’s Giving Tuesday, and a central Wisconsin credit union is helping your dollars go further with matching grants for more than a dozen non-profits.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Wausau Area are the Wausau Recipients. This is their first year to be included in the annual CoVantage Cares Giving Tuesday campaign. For nearly a decade, CoVantage has matched holiday donations for nonprofits in the cities its branches are in. The Boys & Girls Club provides after-school programs and a safe space for kids to hang out after school and during the summer.

“It’s really essential that the community understands the work that organizations like the Boys & Girls Club do to help support young people. We are thrilled to partner with them this year to see what we can do in our community to support young people,” said Kim Larsen, Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area has four sites in our community.

“With opportunities for hands on programming, learning, and time to hang out with the peers. So kids can come to the club and get help with their homework, participate in the gym, sports, fitness and recreation programs, visit the art room, and art studio, and be creative with their time,” said Larsen.

Along with CoVantage Cares, another generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous is also matching up to $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area.
