The Heart of Iowa Dems and the Democratic Women’s Caucus will host a Zoom forum at 8 p.m. with Iowa Senate and House Democratic leaders Janice Weiner and Jennifer Konfrst. Friday, Dec. 6
“A Murder for Christmas” by Karen and Alex Schaeffer premiers at 7:30 p.m. at the Amana Performing Arts Center, 39 38th Ave. in Amana. In this hilarious whodunit, a small community theatre group’s annual performance of “A Christmas Carol” goes horribly awry. Brooklyn Community Theatre presents “Many Things.” This hilarious play, leveraging local acting talent, is about a mom who is working to make everything come together for a perfect Christmas, but nothing is going right. Amana’s Tannenbaum Forest is open from noon to 7 p.m. Admission is free, but donations welcome. All proceeds will support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and local non-profits. Tannenbaum Forest is located at 4707 220th Trail in Amana. The building is not heated, so dress appropriately.
The King Theater in Belle Plaine will show “Moana 2” at 7 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes before showtime. The theater is located at 720 12th St. in Belle Plaine’s downtown.

Iowa County Conservation will help people create holiday nature crafts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Lake Iowa Nature Center, 2550 G. Ave. in Ladora. All materials will be provided.

American Legion Post 76, the Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion will host their annual Santa Claus Supper from 4-7 p.m. for $10 per person. Dine-in, carry-out and in-town delivery are available. A bar is available for dine-in customers. The meal includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, vegetables and a roll. The Legion Hall is located at 1669 Court Ave. in Marengo.
Jingle Around the Square begins in Marengo at 8 a.m. with Breakfast with Santa at Iowa Valley Elementary School, 151 May St. From 4-7 p.m., Santa will have supper with families at the American Legion, 1669 Court Ave. Visitors can jingle around the square from 4-6:30 p.m. with wagon rides and cocoa, Santa Claus and the Grinch. The Snow Globe Dancers from Leanne’s School of Dance will perform at 5:45 p.m. The lighted Christmas parade will begin at 6:45 p.m. From 6-8 p.m. the Miracles on Marion Christmas light display will be open. Admission is free.

The Compass Memorial Healthcare cookie walk begins at 11 a.m. in the hospital’s main lobby. Cookies are $20 per container. Cookies will be available until they are sold out. The hospital is located at 300 W. May St. in Marengo.
