Power of Change supports Culpeper nonprofits
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative is proud to announce that, through the generosity of its members, the Power of Change has awarded $104,000 in grants to 39 organizations across its 22-county service area, including Culpeper, according to a utility release.
Through this customer-supported initiative, more than 34,000 contributions go directly to community projects by rounding up their electric bill each month, averaging 52 cents. Together, these contributions are making a powerful difference for those in need, the release stated.
“These grants empower local organizations to continue their vital work, uplifting communities throughout the region,” said REC spokesperson Casey Hollins.
Culpeper nonprofits receiving Power of Change grants were: New Pathways, Inc. $1,200; Blue and Red Santa Project $1,500; Museum of Culpeper History $1,500; Big Man Foundation $2,500; Little Fork Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company $2,590; The Salvation Army Culpeper: $3,000; Linus Project $4,000; Services to Abused Families Inc. $4,000 and George Washington Carver Agriculture Research Center $5,000.
