The Alliance of Nonprofits recognized area leaders, nonprofit organizations and board members during its sixth annual Alliance of Nonprofits Community Recognition Luncheon held Oct. 24 at the Sleep Inn & Suites.
Nominations were made by the public. Finalists were chosen by a committee of community volunteers and voted on by members of the Alliance of Nonprofits.
Emerging Nonprofit Leader of the Year 2024 was awarded to Christy Miller, executive director of the Souris Valley United Way. The Emerging Leader Award honors newer nonprofit leaders who have already made a significant contribution to the sector and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service. The award is for a leader who has been in their role for less than five years.
The 2024 Nonprofit Leader of the Year was awarded to Allison Auch, executive director of Full STEAM Ahead. The Nonprofit Leader of the Year honors a nonprofit leader who effectively demonstrates commitment to the nonprofit sector and who enhances the success and knowledge of others. The nonprofit leader will have ensured the mission of the organization created maximum community impact. This must be a nonprofit employee who has led their organization for more than five years.
The 2024 Outstanding Board Member of the Year was awarded to Maj. Larry Hubbard, board member of the Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center. The Nonprofit Board Member of the Year honors an individual who effectively serves as a community ambassador of their nonprofit, demonstrates great judgment when making decisions, assists in fundraising and fund development, provides skills and knowledge to make nonprofit better and serves as an example to other board members.

The 2024 Most Impactful Business of the Year is Hometown Radio Group-WGO, The Zoo and Sunny 101.9. The Business of the Year Award shines a light on a for-profit business that has shown excellence in philanthropy and other support of the nonprofit community. The impact of the business is significant in helping nonprofits achieve their missions.
The Alliance of Nonprofits Organization of the Year also honors the member organization that is most deserving of this award for its activities during the past year. The Alliance of Nonprofits Organization of the Year 2024 is the Minot Symphony Orchestra.
