Families can enjoy spooky fun while aspiring entrepreneurs will find inspiration and guidance to kickstart their dreams. Plus, dive into captivating stories and connect with local organizations that need your help — there’s something for everyone!
Trick-or-treat tales and fun
Families with children from infants to age 6 are invited to join us for spooktacular Halloween fun.
- Monster Mash Storytime: Join us for a frighteningly fun time with some not-so-scary stories, crafts and activities at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Strafford Branch Library.
- Halloween Storytime: Dress up and enjoy some not-so-spooky stories, songs and a trick-or-treat parade around the Library at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Library Center auditorium.
- Not-So-Scary Storytime: Enjoy spooky stories, songs and more during our Halloween-themed storytime that won’t keep you up at night at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at The Fairbanks Community Hub.
Boots to Business Reboot
Have you ever dreamed of owning and operating your own business? Learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur along with highly decorated guest presenters who will discuss how to develop business concepts and planning, market research, financing and more from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Library Center auditorium. This workshop is open to veterans and non-service members. Lunch will be provided. Presented in partnership with Simmons Bank, U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE Southwest Missouri and the Veterans Business Outreach Center. ‘Voices from Vietnam’
Watch the award-winning film “Voices from Vietnam,” not rated, featuring an original narrative by Vietnam War veteran Larry Rottmann and directed by Mark Biggs that includes dozens of first-hand photographs and film footage of Vietnam from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Library Center auditorium. A Q&A with Rottmann and Biggs will follow the screening.
