GRAVESEND — ABOUT 150 FAMILIES AT THE NYCHA MARLBORO HOUSES received provisions during a food giveaway last Friday that the housing complex leaders organized. Assemblymember William Colton was among the volunteers. The Pakistani American Youth Organization (PAYO), a non-profit organization that runs a food pantry, donated the food, and UA3, a non-profit group focused on channeling a variety of resources to underserved residents of New York City, donated seasonal pumpkins.

“I was delighted to participate in this worthwhile endeavor,” said Colton. “With money tight for many people, making sure that people in the community have the food they need is extremely important.”

Praising PAYO and UA3, Colton added, “Events such as this one are critical as we work to make sure that our neighbors have what they need, not just to survive but to thrive.”
