Guests dined on an array of appetizers, sipped wine and enjoyed the musical talents of Ralph Rasa on guitar.
“Tonight is all about opening up the lines of communication to listen and to learn, then act,” noted Beverly Bova Scarano, chairperson of the Mid-Dem Middletown Community Outreach Group.
The group supports charitable organizations that address issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, teen suicide, personal empowerment, child and pet safety and many other issues that impact communities. Donna York from Girls On The Run of Central Jersey explained first and foremost that the
organization is not a running club or all about the sport of running.
“It’s about achieving goals,” York said, explaining that Girls On The Run offers fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine life’s possibilities and stand up for themselves and others.
